Coffee Morning 15 March 2008
Written by Margaret Swinnerton
FUND RAISING COFFEE MORNING AT THE WORMS HEAD HOTELThis first fund raising event of 2008 for the Worms Head Station was surprisingly well attended despite horrendous rain and gales and the fact that for the many Welsh rugby fans a 'big match' was being held in the afternoon. The members as usual were very supportive donating cakes plants books and bric a brac as well as a number of excellent raffle prizes and over £500 was raised in just a couple of hours. Locally our assistant Station Manager Audrey Frank is well known for her mouthwatering and no doubt calorie laden cakes and her cake baking for this coffee morning alone must have been over a dozen. Thanks must go to everyone who helped.

'Photographer's' note. From the photos it all looks somewhat sparse. And indeed at this point it was as the many exciting items flew off the tables at an alarming rate! Hence a very successful morning. Thank you Margaret and all involved. |
