17/18 July 2009: The Pennard Carnival
NCI was represented in two ways for this. There was a splendid concert by the Morriston Phoenix Choir as part of the Opening Ceremony on the Friday evening. Howard and Paul are of course members of the choir. They sang a full and varied programme with style and musicality. There was a beautiful performance of Myfanwy and there were many other lovely and several unusual items in the repertoire.
And then on the Saturday afternoon we set up our stand on the Carnival Field – remarkably accessible after the floods of Friday. George's Gower Wreckers game was its usual draw and with that and cakes and plants for sale we made a well-fought-for (there was a lot of competition) £170 odd.
