Freeware and Open Source

Open Source is a movement in the programming community for making source code (program instructions) free and freely available to anyone interested in using or working with it. As such it results in computer programs (Software) that is free from copyright and as a result, can be used and adjusted by everyone.

This website uses Joomla! which is an open source Content Management System (CMS) designed to assist users in building Websites.

Listed here are just some of the organisations and people who freely give to Open Source projects and whose code is used on this site.

Freeware is computer software that is available for use at no cost or for an optional fee. Freeware is different from shareware, where the user is obliged to pay (e.g. after some trial period or for additional functionality).
