1871 - The Daring was a barque in ballast. She was being towed out of Swansea by the tug Cambria, headed for Cardiff, but a storm blew up and both vessels were driven West. Off Caswell she was released from the tow but continued to slip away with the tide. The crew abandoned ship but their boat capsized and all were lost. The vessel was wrecked at Pwlldu.
