1907 - The Bougainville, a 160 ton schooner with a cargo of patent fuel, sprang a leak off Lundy. They pumped determinedly but only made it to within four miles of Oxwich Point, where they had to abandon the vessel, which sank rapidly. The crew, the Captain, his wife, three men and a boy, took to a small boat and struggled eventually in to Swansea. (ref 151)Latest Articles
