Strombus
1940 – The Strombus a 6549 ton Norwegian tanker, a whale factory ship en route from Swansea to the Antarctic, with a cargo of coal and patent fuel, was mined off Mumbles Head. The crew was rescued and the ship was beached, later to be broken up. (Ref: 104)
