Protesilaus
1940 – The Protesilaus, a 9577 ton vessel in ballast from Liverpool to Barry, was mined off Mumbles Head. Many of her crew were injured in the explosion. Fifty-three survivors were rescued by a naval vessel and the rest by lifeboat. She was towed inshore but eventually broke up. (Ref: 103)
