1904 – The SS Lillian was heading up channel when she was nearly in collision with a sailing boat. The drive pin securing the rudder fell out in the violent manoeuvre and, now out of control, she drifted in under the lighthouse at Mumbles Head with no real damage. She was later successfully refloated. (Ref. 098)
