Tours
1919 – The Tours, a French steamer bound in ballast from St Nazaire to Swansea, stranded in Hunts Bay in thick fog. She was there on the rocks for several months and became a local attraction. After a long and complicated salvage operation she was eventually refloated, “to the cheers of several hundred spectators”. [Gower Coast Shipwrecks, Robert Carl Smith.] (Ref: 079)
