Ethiopia

1900 - The steamer Ethiopia, in ballast and heading for Port Talbot, went aground in fog on Oxwich Point. Several tugs and another steamer tried to pull her off the rocks but without success.   The master and crew were rescued by the lifeboat.    The ship was eventually refloated on a spring tide and was towed to Port Talbot.   (Ref. 063)
