1902 – The Ehrglis, a Russian three-masted schooner, was in trouble to the east of Port Eynon Bay. The lifeboat and tugs arrived as the vessel was being driven broadside to the beach. The lifeboat carried lines to the tugs and before the vessel ran ashore she was towed out to safety and on to dock in Swansea. (Ref. 054)
