Blue Bell
1913 - The Blue Bell, a Manchester Steamer on its way to Swansea with a cargo of coal, ran on to rocks at Culver Hole. Although the ship was obviously breaking up, there was no immediate danger to its crew and all twelve of them eventually made it safely ashore that evening. The Blue Bell’s cargo of coal was strewn around the rocks and became a welcome source of winter fuel. A few rusting remnants of the ship may still be seen at the site. (Ref. 041)Latest Articles
